Hamilton cruises to British GP victory

Lewis Hamilton Lewis Hamilton overcame tricky changeable conditions to complete a commanding British Grand Prix victory at Silverstone. The reigning world champion was rarely threatened in a race which began behind the Safety Car following a heavy shower minutes before the start. Faced with a drying track, Hamilton maintained his lead after switching from wets to intermediates on lap 8, before then moving to slicks on lap 18. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen launched a brief attack on Hamilton’s lead in the early stages, but the Brit managed to cope with the threat. In the end, the Mercedes driver nursed his slicks to the chequered flag to score a comfortable win from team-mate Nico Rosberg...
