Rosberg penalised for radio communications

British Grand Prix – Nico Rosberg has been demoted to third place following an investigation into the radio communications from the Mercedes team during the British Grand Prix. Rosberg encountered gearbox issues in the closing stages of the British Grand Prix whilst in pursuit of race-leader Lewis Hamilton. The problem resulted in a loss of time and gave Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen a chance to take second place. Rosberg informed the team of the gearbox problem and the team issued setting instructions as well as a command to not use seventh gear.
