Hamilton leads opening Hungary session

Mercedes AMG Petronas Lewis Hamilton led the way for Mercedes as the team dominated the standings during the opening session for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Following a damp opening 20 minutes, following overnight rain, Hamilton moved to the front with a time of 1:21.347 on the Super Soft tyres. He finished 0.237s clear of team-mate Nico Rosberg, whose deal to remain with the squad until the end of 2018 was confirmed earlier on Friday. Sebastian Vettel was 1.6s behind Hamilton in third place, having also spun at Turn 12 on a messy lap, while Ferrari team-mate Kimi Räikkönen bagged fourth spot.
