Hamilton's seat broke in FP2 accident

Mercedes has revealed that Lewis Hamilton's seat broke in his high-speed crash during second practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Briton had lost control of his car after touching the kerbs on the entry to the high-speed Turn 11 in the first half of the afternoon session on Friday. His car snapped sideways and, although he was hard on the brakes, he still skipped across the run-off area before hitting the tyre wall sideways. Hamilton's impact was registered at 12G, and parts of the car that were damaged in the accident had to be replaced.
