FIA to investigate detached headrest

The FIA will reportedly investigate why Kevin Magnussen's cockpit headrest was able to become detached in his high-speed Belgian GP crash. The Renault driver over-corrected through Eau Rouge and slammed into the barriers on the way into Raidillon. Magnussen's RS16 was destroyed in the accident, which had an impact of 42G, as was the tyre wall. Worringly, though, his headrest became detached and was thrown from the car. According to Motorsport.com, the FIA will investigate the accident as they continue to improve safety in Formula 1. Magnussen is expected to line up on this weekend's Italian GP grid despite suffering a minor ankle injury.
