‘Button had other F1 offers for 2017'

Ron Dennis has revealed that Jenson Button had offers from several other Formula One teams, however the highly experienced British driver declined them in order to take on the McLaren ambassador role.  The 2009 world champion was rumored to make the move to Williams Racing for the 2017 season, and Dennis reveals that several other teams were also keen to bring the British driver onboard for 2017. Dennis has also confirmed that Button's decision to step down for 2017 doesn't mean the 2009 world champion is ‘retiring', as Button will be overseeing development, and in addition, Button has an option to race again in 2018.
