Hamilton, Alonso get first taste of halo

– Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso became the latest drivers to sample the halo device during the opening practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix.Formula 1 chiefs have been keen to introduce increased cockpit protection, with the halo the favoured option, but its implementation has been delayed until 2018, in order to conduct further development work.Ferrari was the first team to sample the halo, during pre-season testing, before Red Bull's in-season run at Silverstone, which followed an outing with its own 'aeroscreen' concept.Following the summer break, trials of the halo have ramped up, with several drivers running the device during the opening sessions in Belgium and...
