Rosberg storms to pole on the streets of Singapore

Singapore Grand Prix – Mercedes' attempts to redeem themselves from a poor 2015 performance began with a sterling pole position effort from Nico Rosberg. In his 200th Grand Prix weekend, Rosberg drew first blood in the Mercedes duel and took his first ever Singapore Grand Prix pole position. Nico Rosberg claimed pole position by half a second ahead of Red Bull Racing's Daniel Ricciardo and Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen was marginally behind the reigning champion in fourth place in the second Red Bull. The Milton Keynes team, however, applied an alternate strategy to use the super soft tyres in the second part of qualifying, meaning both Ricciardo and Verstappen...
