Marko reckons Red Bull forced Hamilton's engine failure
After Lewis Hamilton suffered an engine blow-out while leading the Malaysian Grand Prix, Red Bull’s motorsport advisor Helmut Marko claimed it was the pressure from Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen that caused it. Hamilton was coasting comfortabley with a 20-second lead in Sepang and 16 laps remaining, however, once the Brit suffered an engine failure, Ricciardo pounced and took the lead. The Aussie driver went on to win the race and formed part of Red Bull’s first one-two victory since 2013. Marko, though, claimed that the Austrian-based outfit made their own luck.
