Wehrlein to get grid penalty for gearbox change

Pascal Wehrlein will get a five-place grid penalty for the Japanese Grand Prix following a gearbox change. The FIA announced on Saturday morning that Wehrlein is to have a new gearbox fitted ahead of final free practice at Suzuka. As his previous unit had not completed six events, it means an automatic penalty which will likely peg him to the back of the grid. Wehrlein was 21st fastest in first practice and 20th fastest in second free practice in Japan on Friday. Manor also used up one of its curfews on Friday night after personnel worked late in to the night.   Be part of something big Your email address
