Merc protest against Verstappen

Mercedes have lodged a protest against Max Verstappen after his defending of second place versus Lewis Hamilton at the Japanese GP. Hamilton closed in on the Red Bull driver on the penultimate lap but when trying an ambitious overtake around the outside of 130R, he was forced to pull out of the corner and thus blow his chances of sealing a crucial extra three points. "Max moved when under-braking," complained the Brit - and it now appears that Mercedes are intent on sealing a belated one-two in Suzuka by alleging that Verstappen drove 'erratically and in a dangerous manner'.
