Red Bull blocked Sainz moving to Renault

Carlos Sainz was very close to making a deal to become a Renault driver, but Red Bull blocked the move and as a result the Spaniard will remain with Toro Rosso for another season. His father, rally legend, also Carlos Sainz told Marca,  'He was very close to leaving Toro Rosso. It was a was really interesting three year offer from Renault and he was interested. In the end Red Bull refused as they wanted him for one more year.'
