Button rues missed opportunity with early qualifying exit
United States Grand Prix – Jenson Button was left frustrated after making an early exit from qualifying, starting just 19th on the grid. The Briton used the soft tyre for his first run Q1 but it was not enough to see him safely through, so had to deliver on his second run on the supersofts. However, Button encountered a lot of traffic in the final sector which saw him unable to beat the time he needed to progress to the second session. Button commented on team radio largely on Jolyon Palmer, who was on the racing line at the final corner which meant the McLaren driver had to compromise the end of his lap.
