Ecclestone suggests showbiz accidents good for F1

Bernie Ecclestone has stirred controversy by suggesting Formula 1 could stand to increase its 'danger' element by modifying some circuits and described the spectacular accident suffered by Fernando Alonso in the Australian Grand Prix as 'showbiz'. The F1 supremo has repeatedly expressed his dissatisfaction with the current generation of F1 cars, lambasting the 'quieter' V6 Hybrid machinery for lacking spectacle and appearing too easy to drive. He has also criticised what he considers scant deterrents for drivers who make mistakes at many circuits, namely large run-off areas.
