Brake ducts blamed for Haas being rock bottom in FP2

Haas F1 says that the aero impact of the brake duct design it used in second free practice for the Mexican Grand Prix was to blame for its poor performance. Romain Grosjean ended up 20th fastest, with Esteban Gutierrez slowest of all, after a frustrating afternoon where neither driver felt comfortable with their car. But following a post-session debrief, analysis by the team has revealed that larger brake ducts fitted in the afternoon – aimed to help cooling in the thin air of the high-altitude venue – destroyed the airflow under the car and robbed both drivers of downforce.
