Sao Paulo mayor invites Ecclestone to buy Interlagos

Newly elected mayor of São Paulo, João Doria has invited Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone to become part of a consortium aiming to buying Interlagos, home of the Brazilian grand Prix, and thus preserve the race in Sao Paulo. Doria told UOL Esporte, 'I will meet with the F1 organizers next week in Brazil and they obviously already know my stance. I will also invite Bernie Ecclestone and the F1 international promoters to form a consortium to participate in the Interlagos privatisation program.' Ahead of this year's race Felipe Massa raised concerns that Brazil may disappear from the Formula 1 calendar. As it stands the race is down as a provisional on next year's schedule. Recently...
