McLaren confirms talks were held with Apple

McLaren has confirmed that it did hold talks with Apple earlier this year about a potential partnership, but the discussions never got as far as a bid being put on the table. Speculation several months ago suggested that Apple had put together a takeover bid for McLaren, something that was denied at the time. However, in an interview with news agency Reuters, McLaren Automotive’s chairman Mike Flewitt has revealed exactly what happened. "There wasn't a bid from Apple," said Flewitt. "They visited.
