VIDEO: Alonso says farewell to F1
It had been expected, but Fernando Alonso's confirmation that he will not race in Formula 1 in 2019 still sent shockwaves through the sport regardless. The two-time world champion has endured a miserable few years since returning to McLaren and looks set to sign a full-time deal in IndyCar. Alonso accompanied a more traditional statement released through McLaren with a video, tributing his 17 years in F1.
