'Emotional' Hartley takes best-ever qualifying result at Suzuka

Japanese Grand Prix – Brendon Hartley secured his best qualifying result in Formula One with a sixth-place result at the home race of Toro Rosso's power unit supplier Honda. With Honda introducing a much-anticipated upgrade to their power unit for their home event, Toro Rosso capitalised on the upgrade by taking their best combined qualifying effort of the season. Pierre Gasly took seventh place whilst team-mate Brendon Hartley took his bets qualifying result of the season with sixth. For the New Zealander, it was only the second time that he had progressed into Q3 and he currently faces an uncertain future at Toro Rosso having been heavily out-scored by his team-mate this season....
