McLaren 'more than half a second' behind Haas

McLaren are more than half a second adrift of midfield leaders Haas, according to Carlos Sainz. Haas' Romain Grosjean qualified sixth in Australia, just two places ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris, but there was a half second gap between them. The Spaniard believes it will be a 'difficult task' for McLaren to outdevelop the American team and overtake them this season, going by what he's seen in testing and the opening Formula 1 race in Melbourne.
