Mercedes to run power unit update at Belgian GP

Mercedes, along with customer teams Racing Point and Williams, will run a new phase power unit at this weekend’s Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix. It is the second substantial update for Mercedes this season, after bringing its previous specification to the Canadian Grand Prix in June. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff revealed earlier in the week that staff at its Brixworth factory had been working through the summer break in order to find gains, and they have been brought to Spa-Francorchamps. “Works teams and customers planned to run a new phase PU, barring any unexpected surprises between now and practice,” confirmed a Mercedes spokesperson. “Testing at the factory has shown...
