Renault F1 engine upgrade prompts Spa grid penalties

Renault will introduce its latest Formula 1 engine at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix, meaning both Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg will receive grid penalties. The French manufacturer says the new upgrade will result in “minor upgrades to reliability and performance”, with both drivers taking on the new spec ICE (internal combustion engine). As a result, Ricciardo and Hulkenberg will receive five-place grid penalties for Sunday’s race, providing no further elements are changed.
