MotoGP star Lorenzo confirms retirement

Three-time MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo has confirmed he will retire after this weekend's season-ending race in Valencia. Lorenzo secured the premier-class title in 2010, 2012 and 2015. His third title was secured in the only season that Marc Marquez has not been crowned champion since debuting in MotoGP in 2013. Lorenzo joined Marquez at Honda for 2019 in a blockbuster line-up, but the 32-year-old has suffered a disappointing season, marred by injuries. He will retire with only five riders having taken more grand prix race wins, with 68 victories to his name before his final outing.
