Hulkenberg signs off on F1 career with P12 finish
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – Nico Hulkenberg's final confirmed Formula 1 race earned him the Driver of the Day plaudits, but no championship points. Having started the race from P9, Nico Hulkenberg was eager to sign off on his F1 career by taking some championship points in his bid to help Renault stay ahead of Toro Rosso for P5 in the Constructor's Championship. However, it all came to naught in the closing stages of the race. Having pitted on Lap 18 to switch from his Softs to the Medium tyres, his tyres began to give up the ghost and he was picked off by Sergio Perez, Lando Norris and Daniil Kvyat in the final few laps.
