Gallery: Day 1 of 2020 F1 testing in pictures

It appears normal business in Formula 1 has resumed at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya as Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton topped the timesheets with team-mate Valtteri Bottas close behind. Five drivers including Red Bull's Max Verstappen, McLaren's Carlos Sainz Jr. and Ferrari Charles Leclerc – who filled in for the unwell Sebastian Vettel – also surpassed the 100 lap barrier, showing reliability is already at a high level. The Williams team also proved they've already made steps forward by getting their FW43 first out on the track ahead of their rivals, a farcry from their 2019 efforts.
