Teams get another chance to test new Pirelli tyre
During the training prior to the Grand Prix in Portimao, all teams were able to drive a number of laps with different prototypes of tyres. The teams will ride with one of these tyres as of next year. Pirelli will give the teams another chance to test the tyres. Choosing a new tyre is of course easier said than done and Pirelli therefore wants to test as much as possible. More testing increases the chance of a good choice, and it also creates more support among all teams in Formula 1. Sometime this year, the teams will ride another free practice session with a prototype tyre for 2021.
