Grosjean undergoes surgery following Bahrain crash

Romain Grosjean has undergone surgery on his left hand to repair ligament damage caused by his horrific crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Grosjean crashed on lap one of the race in October in an incident that tore in half his Haas VF-20 that also erupted in flames. The Frenchman struck a barrier at 137mph with a recorded impact of 53G. Article continues under video Grosjean had hoped to compete in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a race which took place just two weeks after his accident, only for his injuries to rule him out and end his Formula 1 career prematurely.
