Williams strengthens ties with Mercedes for 2022
Williams has strengthened its bond with Mercedes. As of 2022 the team from Grove will be driving several parts of Mercedes in order to make new steps in the hope that the team can get out of the lower region of the grid. More than an engine supplier Williams announced on its own website that from 2022 the team will not only drive with Mercedes engines, but will also take over the gearbox and important hydraulic components from the German team. So far Williams have done all this themselves. Simon Roberts, team boss of Williams, is satisfied with the new deal.
