Russell keeping potential Mercedes future off his mind

George Russell says he won't be heading into the 2021 season thinking about his chances of securing a drive with Mercedes in 2022, knowing that a driver's prospects can change on a whim in F1. Russell's spectacular one-off with Mercedes at last year's Sakhir GP comforted his position as a top candidate for a plum drive with F1's dominant team.
