Philip Morris, historically Formula 1's most prominent sponsor with a near 50-year pesence in the sport, introduced its first Marlboro liveried car back in 1972 when it supported the works BRM team. Seen here is Peter Gethin, breaking out of a giant cigarette box, as the British team's P160B is introduced at the Circuit Paul Ricard before the 1972 season. Marlboro's presence loomed large in the F1 paddock in the seventies, its colors raced by several teams and countless drivers.
