Brawn explains why F1 is set to introduce sprint races

Article To news overview © Honda F1 Ross Brawn says Formula 1's innovative sprint race concept which is set to be used at multiple Grand Prix events this year has "a lot going for it". The former Ferrari team principal is confident the format will work and believes fans will be more engaged with a race weekend that sees three days of meaningful running. The current plan is for the normal knockout qualifying to be ran on Friday before a sprint race on Saturday which will be approximately one-third distance of a normal Grand Prix.
