Verstappen still expecting Mercedes to be main rival despite McLaren pace

Article To news overview © Getty Images/Red Bull Contentpool Max Verstappen finished Friday's practice day as fastest man, with the Red Bull driver setting the pace in both practice sessions. Verstappen set a 1:30.8 on the soft compound Pirelli to finish with the best time of the day in second practice, a tenth ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris on the same compound. Norris had the measure of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton on the same soft tyre, with the reigning Champion in third place, but Verstappen doesn't believe that will remain the case throughout the weekend.
