Leclerc should have given Verstappen back his position at the restart
Max Verstappen gave Formula 1 fans a scare Sunday afternoon at the Imola circuit when he almost spun while warming up his tyres for the restart. For a moment it seemed that what Sergio Perez had experienced earlier was going to happen, but Verstappen always regained his place in this situation. The FIA confirms this. Race director Michael Masi argues that if Leclerc had overtaken his rival Verstappen after his slip after the red flag, he would have had to let the Dutchman back in front.
