Will Gray Saturday 1 May 2021 16:25 - Updated: 16:28 Max Verstappen was left to regret a "messy" qualifying for the Portuguese Grand Prix as he blamed a number of factors for finishing behind another Mercedes front-row lock-out. Verstappen was a dejected third, 0.398s off pole after his Red Bull was out-qualified by both Mercedes at Portimão, with Valtteri Bottas narrowly claiming pole position ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
