Verstappen frustrated by “stupid” Baku F1 qualifying after missing pole

Red Bull appeared the fastest team heading into qualifying but Verstappen had to settle for third place on the Baku grid - behind main championship rival Lewis Hamilton - after a red flag disrupted the final runs of Q3. For the second race in a row, Verstappen had been improving on his final timed lap of qualifying but had to abort his lap when Yuki Tsunoda and Carlos Sainz crashed out in the closing moments of Q3.
