Mercedes to face the stewards after Bottas pit lane spin

Article To news overview © Formula 1 A bizarre pit lane spin from Valtteri Bottas during second practice has attracted the attention of the stewards, with the FIA summoning a representative of the team. Bottas was leaving his pit box on the hard tyre and was lighting up his rear tyres to lay down rubber, when he lost control of the rear of the W12 and spun to end up facing the McLaren garage. "Yeah, I spun, we tried something different getting out from the box and it was.. yeah, it's just there was some variables to what we normally do with the wheelspin so that's why I spun," Bottas explained to the press after the session.
