Vettel slapped with penalty for blocking Alonso
Austrian Grand Prix – Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel has been given a three-place grid penalty for blocking Fernando Alonso in qualifying. The incident occurred at the end of Q2 just as Alonso was coming finish his flying lap. As Vettel had backed off in the final corner in order to start his flying lap, Alonso was compromised as he came up behind the slow Aston Martin. Alonso was visibly upset with Vettel, who later apologised for the incident. As a result the four-time world champion was called to the stewards.
