Herbert slams Marko’s ‘cheap shot’ at Hamilton
Johnny Herbert has hit out at Helmut Marko’s suggestion that perhaps Lewis Hamilton should have retired at the end of last year. Marko made that claim with a chuckle after the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in which the seven-time former World Champion was lapped by the man who took his crown in such controversial circumstances in 2021, Max Verstappen. While Verstappen went on to win the race at Imola to make it two victories and two retirements caused by Red Bull breakdowns in the first four grands prix of this season, Hamilton came home 13th. Mercedes have struggled to master the new Formula 1 regulations with ground-effect cars designed from scratch, with their W13 being one of the worst...
