Formula E boss reveals $250,000 charity bet on Max Verstappen

Jeff Dodds, the CEO of Formula E, was confident that Max Verstappen would be Formula 1 champion in 2024, so confident that he even dared to make a bet that if a competitor could manage to keep Verstappen from winning another title, he would give $250,000 to a charity of choice of that driver. While Lando Norris briefly had hopes of winning the championship and therefore also the money, Verstappen claimed another title, so Dodds did not have to pay out. Although he did win his bet, Dodds discussed with Verstappen plans to donate the money anyway.
