Norris hopes dominant Austrian GP pole ‘is just the beginning’

28/06/2025 at 18:5128/06/2025 at 19:05 Lando Norris delivered a dominant performance to seize pole position for the Austrian Grand Prix, and the McLaren driver hopes Saturday’s statement lap at the Red Bull Ring marks the start of a mid-season resurgence. Despite missing the opening practice session on Friday – with McLaren junior Alex Dunne taking the wheel for FP1 – Norris has looked unstoppable ever since, topping every session and stamping his authority on qualifying with a blistering lap of 1m03.971s. The Briton outpaced Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and teammate Oscar Piastri by over half a second to secure his thrid pole of the 2025 Formula 1...
