One Year Rewind – Webber secures second Silverstone triumph

A British driver last won the British Grand Prix in 2008 when Lewis Hamilton claimed a stunning wet-weather win for McLaren. However Mark Webber regards it as his second ‘home’ race due to the circuit’s proximity to his home and his love for the fans and the track. It wasn’t his first race win at the iconic Silverstone circuit but he did it in stunning style. Weather played its part over the race weekend and brought another variable to what already is a challenging track. Friday and Saturday consisted of heavy rain but the wet weather held off for race day where there was glorious sunshine – a typical English summer.
