Van der Garde upbeat over debut season
Caterham driver Giedo van der Garde is looking back on the opening nine races of his Formula 1 career with a sense of satisfaction, the Dutchman arguing that he has been making "good progress" since the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. After the quartet of flyaway races at the start of the campaign, van der Garde delivered his strongest performance to date on the streets of Monte-Carlo, making the second qualifying phase and going on to finish the race in a personal best 15th position.
