Kvyat optimistic despite limited track time

Toro Rosso rookie Daniil Kvyat is remaining optimistic despite only completing nine laps driving the new STR9 at the first winter test. Power-unit problems plagued the Italian team's running on all four days of the opening pre-season test, costing them crucial track time. Kvyat was scheduled to drive for the team on Wednesday but mechanical issues meant he failed to even make it out of the garage. The Russian youngster did, however, manage to lap the Jerez circuit nine times on the final test day, giving the team vital data on its new machine.
