Silverstone discounted ticket sale an ‘overwhelming success’

The response to Silverstone Circuit selling a limited number of £99 General Admission tickets for race day of the 2015 British Grand Prix was an overwhelming success, with the first 1000 tickets selling out within 22 minutes of going on sale. The demand was such that the Silverstone management team made the decision to keep the offer open until 5pm, and in the end 5,511 race day tickets were sold to the general public at just £99 a piece. The introduction of a new child policy has also seemed to bare fruit early, with families eager to attend race day, with many £49 tickets for 11 to 15 year-olds being snapped up; children under 11 will be able to gain free admission.
