Hamilton fastest in Chinese GP first practice
Lewis Hamilton set the pace in first practice for the Chinese Grand Prix, with his team-mate Nico Rosberg half a second further back in second place. Under sunny skies in Shanghai, the first 90-minute practice session of the Chinese Grand Prix weekend got underway. Roberto Merhi, Carlos Sainz Jr, Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa were the first to take to the track on Friday morning. 2014 GP2 champion Jolyon Palmer soon emerged from the garage, with the Lotus reserve driver taking over Romain Grosjean's E23 Hybrid for FP1.
