Perez felt fifth possible without Abbey off
Sahara Force India Force India's Sergio Perez reckons he could have kept Ferrari rival Kimi Raikkonen at bay had he not spun in tricky conditions at Abbey during the British Grand Prix. Perez profited from the Virtual Safety Car to move up to fifth place, having started from 10th, but suffered a spin at Abbey and lost time. Perez was eventually overhauled by Raikkonen but preserved sixth position, narrowly ahead of team-mate Nico Hulkenberg. "It’s a very good result for the team, with two cars in the points, even if I feel I could have kept fifth place without that spin at Abbey," he said. "When I had that moment I thought my race was over, but I managed to save it....
