Kevin Magnussen: “We were just not quick enough”
Kevin Magnussen admitted he was not quick enough during the British Grand Prix on Sunday before retiring in the pits with just a handful of laps remaining as a precaution. The Danish driver followed his Renault Sport F1 team-mate Jolyon Palmer into retirement after a potential gearbox, the same reason why the Briton had retired earlier in the race, but the Dane was at the back of the field at the time with no chance of securing his second points finish of the season. Magnussen had been running in sixteenth, ahead only of the Haas of Esteban Gutierrez, when he retired with three laps remaining, and was the last driver classified in seventeenth. “In the first part of the race the track was...
