Leclerc would be ready for GP3-to-F1 jump in 2017
Ferrari protege Charles Leclerc says he would be ready to enter Formula 1 as a full-time race driver in 2017, provided he wins the GP3 title this season. Leclerc, a former karting rival of Max Verstappen, currently heads the GP3 standings in his rookie season after three rounds, and has already had F1 test outings with Ferrari and Haas. Of GP3's previous champions, Valtteri Bottas and Daniil Kvyat went straight into Formula 1 - although Bottas did complete a season as test driver at Williams between his GP3 title and his F1 promotion.
