Rosberg heads opening session in Germany

Mercedes AMG Petronas Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg set the quickest time during the first practice session for the returning German Grand Prix at Hockenheim. Rosberg’s time of 1:15.517, on the Super Soft tyres, was over a second quicker than his pole position time from two years ago, when Formula 1 last visited the circuit. Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton was second fastest, 0.326s adrift of Rosberg. Ferrari collected third and fourth, with Sebastian Vettel ahead of Kimi Räikkönen, albeit over a second down on compatriot Rosberg.
