Formula 1 votes against halo for 2017
– Formula 1 will delay the introduction of increased head protection until the 2018 season, with it agreed at the latest meeting of the Strategy Group that further development work on "all options" is required.Formula 1 has been striving to increase head protection following a spate of incidents and near-misses in recent seasons, with the 'halo' and the 'aeroscreen' having been tested.Formula 1 chiefs previously backed the halo, which wraps around the cockpit in the form of three struts, over Red Bull's alternate aeroscreen, trialled during practice in Russia.Ferrari and Red Bull have both sampled the halo, initially outlined by Mercedes, during installation laps, with the...
